A bit about Maleeka

As an undergraduate student pursuing a BA Hons in Criminal Justice System and Criminology, I can empathise with the student experience. I take pride in being a dedicated, team-focused tutor who is committed to helping students achieve A grades. I actively listen to students and grasp their areas of weakness, guiding them on how to overcome these challenges and progress. I embarked on my tutoring journey in the summer of 2019 following the completion of my GCSEs. Balancing this part-time job with my A-level studies allowed me to develop confidence and gain valuable tutoring experience in the real world. I initially worked with Explore Learning, a well-known tutoring platform. Inspired by this experience, I took the initiative to establish my own platform, where I now have several students eager to improve with my guidance. Leveraging my outstanding communication and relationship-building skills, I foster academic growth among my students. I provide expert knowledge in Mathematics and English. My unwavering dedication is focused on achieving the highest quality standards and delivering remarkable results. I excel in tutoring for GCSE and A-Level examinations, and I am well-versed in thriving within high-pressure, deadline-driven, and target-focused educational environments. It's an immensely gratifying feeling, knowing that I played a part in their achievement. I have a deep fascination for crime documentaries, which aligns with my pursuit of Criminology. Staying updated with current affairs in this field enriches my understanding, as I appreciate the diverse perspectives people hold. On another note, I'm an avid food enthusiast, or you could say a true foodie. Exploring new destinations and towns to savor unique restaurants, cultures, and atmospheres is a passion of mine. I could talk about this topic for hours on end, as it genuinely captivates me. As a tutor, my approach is to foster a positive and engaging learning atmosphere. I encourage students to ask questions and actively participate in their educational journey. My goal extends beyond academic comprehension; I aim to instill a lifelong passion for learning. I achieve this through interactive teaching methods, real-world examples, and hands-on activities, making learning enjoyable and effective. I excel in pinpointing students' areas of improvement and crafting personalised lesson plans to tackle their unique challenges. I regularly assess progress to refine my teaching methods, ensuring optimal academic growth and achievement. Warm-up: I start with a starter, such as a past paper question or a related mini-exercise, to ease the student into the session and refresh their memory from the previous lesson. Agenda Overview: At the beginning of the session, I provide a breakdown of what we'll cover, allowing the student to identify areas where they may need more support. This helps me tailor the lesson to their specific needs and allocate time effectively. Instruction and Practice: I integrate teaching with ample practice opportunities throughout the session. I break down topics into manageable chunks to aid comprehension. Students are encouraged to actively participate, ask questions, and practice what they've learned. Exam Preparation: Each session includes practice exam questions to help students familiarise themselves with the format and content. This allows them to apply their knowledge and skills in a real-world context and build confidence. All exam boards for KS3 and GCSE: Maths, English, Combined Science, History, Religious Education All exam boards for GCSE & A-Level: Criminology, Sociology, English Literature and Language and Religious Education 11+ Entrance Exams (including verbal and non-verbal reasoning) I adapt ALL lessons to match your needs/requirement, if unsure please don't hesitate to reach out
