A bit about Mohammed S

I specialise in KS3, GCSE and A-level Computer Science for CIE,OCR, AQA and Edexcel exam board. I am also an advanced Python Programmer. I have been tutoring for the last 10 years online and offline. I have the ability to teach beginning and advanced levels of Python programming, computer science from teaching KS3, (I)GCSE and A-level students for all the exam boards. My name is Mohammed Alamgir Syed. I completed my master’s in Information and Technology from De Montfort University, Leicester, in 2003. I have also completed my Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) from Nottingham Trent University in 2005. I have been teaching Computer Science at all three levels (KS3, KS4, KS5) last 17 years locally and internationally. Furthermore, I am the examiner for CIE, OCR and IB GCSE Computer Science. I have been marking exam papers last 11 years. I am also an advanced Python programmer. All these skills and experience made me a unique teacher for tutoring, computer science. Teaching is my passion. I really want to make a difference to an individual’s life by giving him/her support and guidance to achieve a higher grade. Sports- Cricket, Badminton, I also love to travel. KS3, KS4 , KS5 Exam Board - CIE, OCR, AQA, Edexcel I have a Master's in Information And Technology. I also hold a QTS based on these qualifications. I do not have a set teaching style. I feel that each student and class have a different way of learning thus I should have a different way of teaching the class. I regard my teaching as highly adaptable, enjoyable, and relatable which allow students to work to the best of their abilities. Furthermore, I try to make my lesson enjoyable and engaging to allow students to feel free to ask questions or ask for help as some students may not get the concept on their first try. I regularly testing the students with task, quizzes, and exam style questions, however, not focusing on the result but the strengths and weaknesses which can guide them to improve in the next task/quiz When I meet my student, I usually spend the first lesson discussing the needs and asking questions to test the student's level. Then I tend to plan the lesson based on what we did in the previous one, with some revision at the beginning, and then continue with the new (or required) content. I also discuss goals with my students and build some long-term plans for when and how we'll meet them. Usually all my lessons have a starter, main activity (break down to a small task. Continuous checking student learning (AFL)) and plenary. Make a difference to an individual’s life by give him/her support and guidance to achieve a higher grade. When the child’s brain works harder than mine, I deem that as a successful lesson. When I use a clear success criteria setting out at the start of the lesson, I start planning for short reflection opportunities mid-way through my lessons for the students to self-assess whether they were going to achieve the LO that lesson. Furthermore, the focus of my lessons is to apply the retrieval strategy throughout the lesson. I found that this kept the student on track and for me to focus on the student who were straggling. If I was able to achieve all of these criteria’s during the lesson, I felt that this contributed to my success. In 2020-21 IGCSE exam, 5 students grade were below C grade, I have manged to support and guide them to achieve grade A for 3 students and grade B for 2 students. To contribute to society and help young children to become better individuals. I am Mr. Positive and I believe in my student. I am patient, calm, always with a smile on my face, and I understand when we have to revise something several times. They also always appreciated the creativity or when I bought something from the real world or explained how they are going to use certain things in the real world.
