A bit about Tracy J

My passion for helping young people achieve their full potential has been a common theme running through everything I have undertaken in my career in education over the pass 21 years. I have developed a considerable working understanding of what it means to provide a good solid well-rounded education for all students equally, while fostering a sense of security, ambition and resilience. I have a clear understanding of the current education landscape and continuously collaborate with colleagues and external agencies to jointly tackle the issues students must face in this ever-evolving society. I have a track record of teaching good to outstanding lessons with excellent behaviour management throughout my career. I have been in school leadership for the 15 years. Leading the languages department in 3 different schools and spending an 18-month secondment on the senior leadership team in one of my schools. During these roles I have greatly developed effective leadership and collaboration skills and have overseen several initiatives to ensure student achievement and attainment. This was particularly relevant during and after the covid crisis where we had to develop effective systems for teaching students remotely. I have taught Spanish and French GCSE and A level for 20 years. I did Sociology as part of my first degree and as part of my masters in Psychology. I have had the opportunity to deliver both subjects as well at GCSE level. I started tutoring in 2006, French and Spanish to GCSE and A level students. I continued to tutor 2 evenings a week while working as a full time teacher. I have been able to ensure that students who were predicted low grades, significantly improved and attained the grades they needed for their next steps. Having taught in secondary school from 2001-current, I am well aware of exam requirement and plan accordingly. I can plan and deliver engaging lessons to students ages 11-18, ensuring that they cover all bases. I am also clearly aware of different learning styles and abilities. I am able to tailor lessons to suit the needs of all students.
