A bit about Michael W

25 years in teaching across three continents. Started in the UK for 8 years then my family and I moved to the Caribbean for 17 years where I worked as Head of Computing, Director of Technology and teacher of Business and Economics all to A Level. Live in Cheltenham in a village that time forgot. Triathlete to Half Iron man standard and half decent footballer/cricketer. Computing: A special interest in databases and am currently finishing an MSc in Cyber but comfortable with all areas at A Level. Econ: Macro analytics and geo relations between developed economies. Equally happy with micro and consumer psychology Business: Moral Social and Ethical responsibilities of corporations. Finance and mathematical elements such as critical path. Throughout my career I have always assisted students who wish to push themselves to achieve outstanding results. I regularly lead Easter and Summer revision programmes and have a particular interest in 'flying start' tutoring for students before they go to Uni to study and of the disciplines I teach. Equally, as Director of Technology I regularly took 'lead out' lessons for students as young as Year 7. Every lesson is different because students have their own needs so my preparation and assessment is tailored to them. I would describe my teaching style as immersive and I expect students to engage with me, question concepts and bring their own talents to the lessons. In essence, a tutorial should be a dialogue - not a lecture.
