A bit about Lucy

I have 3 years experience teaching in a high achieving secondary boys grammar school. I have a QTS (Qualified Teaching Status) in teaching French and Japanese. I am an examiner for French GCSE. I am currently completing an MA in French and Japanese translation. I teach AQA French. (Edexcel is also possible as it is very similar) IB French. (Ab Initio, Standard and Higher levels.) I can teach from Y7-Y13. Student usually find me approachable, friendly, and easy to talk to. I am patient and I explain grammar well, helping students develop confidence with their language skills. I love music, especially jazz music! Other interests include reading literature, foreign films, and karaoke. I'm half Belgian, and half British, but I was born in Japan! I am a native speaker of English, and I grew up speaking French and Japanese as a child. However I understand that learning a language is difficult, especially when you don't spend much time in that country. That's why I am passionate about helping my students grow confident in their language skills.
